Paranthewali Gali

We love to eat local food whenever we travel. Eating local cuisine is definitely a part of our travel experience and we love every bit of it.The paranthe wali gali is located in the chandni chowk area of old Delhi, which was designed by Jahanara Begum, the daughter of shah jahan. The area is quite crowded and using public transport is a better option to reach there. If you travel by metro, you need to get down at lal quila metro station or at chandni chowk metro station. Once you are out of metro station, take a cycle rickshaw to the paranthe wali gali. Also, It is very close to lal quila. So, if you are planning a trip to lal quila then you should definitely try out the parathnas of the parathe wali gali. The parantha shops at parathe vali gali are famous for its unique paratha preparation style. Unlike we do at homes, the paranthas at chandni chowk are made by frying the paranthas. Moreover, they have really different types of paranthas available. When i first visited, I was awestuck by looking at the menu, I was wondering "iska bhi parantha ban sakta hai" ( parantha can be prepared of this item too!).  pudina paratha, banana parahta, aloo paratha, nimbu parantha, and list goes on . Critics also argue that its not a parantha they go on to add that it should rather be called as poori. Well, whatever the critics say, it have always attracted people. From bollywood celebrities to politicians, many famous people visited here to taste these paranthas. The “Parathe Wale Gali” is one such place.

It literally means “The Paratha Lane” or the “by-lane of fried bread” is situated in the famous Chandni Chowk area of Delhi. These “parathas” are strictly vegetarian and has no onions or garlic. So Paranthe Wali Gali is more than Paranthas. Do you agree? When you are in Delhi next time, take a few hours at least to treat your taste buds in Paranthe Wali Gali and surroundings.
